Graphics 2 - Yvette Sands

Design Process
My name is Yvette Sands and I am a doctoral student enrolled in the Design and Development II course at the University of South Carolina. This website contains my Graphics 2 Project. The purpose of this project was to use a graphics tool or application to create a scene. I created a scene using several different elements in Photoshop CC. Using Photoshop I was able to experiment with importing and manipulating images, using layers, and using the various drawing tools that were available within the application.

For the Graphics 2 Project, I started off with a simple lake scene and added the following images:

· Girl sitting by the lake reflecting
· Book bag against a tree
· Bird on a rock
· Fish in the lake
· Boat in the water
· 2 birds in the sky
· Sun in the sky

In order to make the scene appear blended and not appear as a mismatch of elements I used several drawing tools.

-
Opacity feature – I used this feature to make the fish appear as if it was underwater and not just sitting on top of the water.

-
Shadows – I had to use the shadow tool for the boat to make it appear that the boat was in the water and not just sitting on top of the water.

-
Magic Wand - I used the magic wand to accurately cut out the images and place them in the scene.
