The purpose of this assignment was to become familiar with layers and how they can be manipulated and edited using common photo editing software. I chose to use Photoshop CC 2018. Once I explored the software, I found that it was straightforward and easy to use.

Purpose
Text In Layers
I used a picture of my sorority shield to demonstrate how layering can be used for images. For this part of the assignment, I duplicated the original image and edited it in black and white, and then I used the opacity feature to edit the appearance of the image. Examples of the layering technique is shown below.

I used the layer feature in Photoshop to layer both my first and last name. I used the original format black format, the color format, and the opacity feature. Examples of the layering technique is shown below.
